These images were created directly by the “SkyScape” planetarium program, which can display more than 9000 stars, and calculate the positions of the Sun, the Moon and the planets. The sky window is resizeable, and full-screen images can be displayed and saved.
Lines showing the ecliptic, the equator, the horizon, constellation boundaries, etc. can optionally also be drawn and labelled. The program includes a constellation-finder and a star-finder, and can identify the planets and brighter stars by name. The display can zoom in to show more detail, or zoom out to show the whole sky.
